Fister Golf
Sean "The Beast" Fister is a 3-time World Long Driver champion. He knows a thing or two about driver performance. The Beast had previously designed driver heads become approaching me for his Model I design. He asked that no technology be left out leading to the driver being the best design possible for a long drive competitor.
Model: Fister Golf Model I
Material/Mfg: Precision 4-Piece Titanium with Billet Forged Face
Introduction: 2013
The Model I driver is a technological innovation in driver head construction. The face is billet forged SP700 titanium with variable face thickness for fast ball speed on off-center impacts. The crown is forged with two thin walled cavities to help displace weight lower into the head. The 6-4 titanium sole and skirt is tongue and groove fit to the billet forged cup face. Each of the four head components are CNC plasma welded by robot to create extremely consistent head geometry.
Sean wanted a design that was toned down from the vibrant color splashed OEM drivers on the market. We ended up toning down the driver's cosmetic presentation to the point that "MODEL I" is the only graphic on the head. It's traditional black crown paint is subtle elegance.
The sole incorporates an accordian chamber. There are a plurality of grooves that allow the face to compress with less resistance leading to faster ball speed with less spin and a higher launch.
The Model I was developed in lofts of 6, 9 and 10.5 degrees so that the driver could be used by long drive competitors in addition to recreational golfers. It's lower spin performance is greatly suited to those with faster swing speeds or golfers like myself who tend to impart greater back spin than desired.
